Travel has gone from "flights, hotels and packing" to a proper trip-planning tool. Five things shipped this week — here's what's new.
Day-by-day Itinerary
A new Itinerary tab merges your flights, hotel check-in/check-out, and activities into one chronological view, grouped by day. There's a Print button too — it strips away the sidebar and navigation so you can print or save a clean offline copy before you fly.
Pre-Trip Checklist
Separate from your packing list, the new Checklist tab is for the action items around a trip, not the things going in your suitcase — renewing a passport, stopping the mail, arranging pet care, buying currency. Give an item a due date and category, and you'll get a push reminder if it's still outstanding on the day it's due.
Document Hub
A new Documents tab per trip stores visas, travel insurance policies, and anything else you don't want buried in a folder somewhere — with type, provider, reference number, and validity dates, plus the option to attach a scanned copy. While building this we also noticed Activities couldn't have anything attached to them at all — no way to keep a tour or excursion booking confirmation against it. That's fixed too; Activities now support attachments the same way flights and hotels always have.
Weather-adjusted Packing
Once you're within 5 days of a trip (the limit of how far a weather forecast is actually reliable), the Packing tab shows a "Suggested for [destination]" panel based on the real forecast — thermal layers and gloves for cold, sunscreen for heat, waterproofs for rain or snow. Nothing gets added automatically; each suggestion is a one-tap "+" to add it to your list if you want it.
Risk Alerts
The biggest addition: Travel now watches upcoming trips for two kinds of risk and pushes a warning if it finds one — severe weather (thunderstorms, snow, heavy rain, or extreme temperatures) in the 3 days before you travel, and active conflict zones, checked against a live, independently-maintained conflict-tracking feed. An affected trip also gets a small warning badge that sticks on its card in your trip list until you've read the alert — not just a one-off notification you might miss.
Both are opt-in via your notification preferences if you'd rather turn them off.
